Ok, first of all, you can download a full version demo of Paint Shop Pro 7 at Jasc.com. This demo says it will only last 30 days when in fact it lasts 60 days.
To get your avatars into psp (or any painting program), there are two ways that you can go about doing this. The first way is to put your av on yourself the way you want it. Then right click on yourself and click on 'Show/Hide names' so that your name comes off of it. Then, hit the Print Scrn button on your keyboard. Then go into whatever painting program you are using, and go to Edit, and click on Paste (or hit the ctrl + v buttons on your keyboard to paste). You should see a screen shot of what your whole computer screen looked like.
**Note** Mind you, only use this way to take pictures and screen shots of ONLY your OWN avatars. It is considered cloning if you use this way to steal other people's avatars, not to mention just very very wrong. I do not condone cloning in any way, shape, or form.
The other way to get your avatar into psp or any other paint program, is to copy and paste each peice individually. First you make a new image by going to File New Image. Then, you do this by selecting each peice one by one, clicking then on the edit button in the prop bag, and then dragging a selection (by clicking on the button with a broken-lined box on it) around the prop. After you have done that you hit the ctrl + c buttons on your keyboard to copy it. Then you go into your paint program and go to Edit Paste or click ctrl + v on your keyboard to paste it, then just put your av together again.
Now just crop around the space of your avatar, and you can begin to edit it. I find that if you zoom in a couple times it makes it less painful on the eyes to see what you are doing, since it appears larger. To zoom in you go to (in PSP at least) View, and then you have two options, Zoom in by 1, or Zoom in by 5. I usually just click on Zoom in by 5.
Also, so you don't have to keep switching between zooms, too see how your av looks normal size, you can open a new window to watch your progress on both different sizes. You do this by going to Window in the menu bar and clicking on New Window. This helps a LOT, and saves you from having to zoom in and out all the time.

There should be a navigation frame on the left hand
side of the screen. If it isn't there, click here.
